E-LINK Exercise

E-LINK is an interactive system providing motivation and feedback, increasing patient compliance and tolerance of exercise programs, allowing longer effective therapy. The E-LINK parameters can be varied for range, speed and difficulty of the activities to treat a wide range of patients.  The exercise is supervised, yet therapist independent.  E-LINK is used for all types of patients, from Paediatrics to Geriatrics to Professional Athletes, in both Orthopaedic and Neurological Rehabilitation.

E-LINK is computerized graded therapeutic exercise utilizing computer games for exercise.  While the patient is playing the games, they are getting their exercise.  The Activity Modules may be controlled by a variety of inputs, depending upon the patient’s physical and cognitive status.

E-LINK Activity Modules

There is a large body of research, spanning decades, demonstrating the advantages of activity based exercise versus repetitive exercise.

The research shows that a patient, when engaged in activity based exercise:

  • Exhibits wider range of motion

  • Exercises for a longer period of time

  • Reports less pain

  • Rehabilitates faster

Designed by Therapists in the United Kingdom, E-LINK takes these well proven concepts and utilizes a computer environment to create a comprehensive system for functional rehabilitation in the hand and upper extremity.
